Welcome to the webpage for 6th Grade Advanced English Language Arts. Here, you can receive updates on activities and lessons that are happening in the classroom.

 

This unit our theme is Animal Intelligence: Argumentative Writing. Students have been introduced to the concept of an argumentative essay and have read and analyzed several articles regarding animals. They have completed several practice writing assignments that led up to the argumentative essay.

 

Students chose their own topics from a small list or created their own topic. They then conducted their own research using articles provided to them by the teacher and internet sources. They will next follow the writing process to produce their essay.
